The Teacher

Cheska says, KAYA!

This layout is about my grandmother who has not only been an academic teacher by profession but has been my teacher about very important things in life. Making this layout allowed me to look back and ponder on all that she has imparted to me. It was especially light to make as the 'pearl' motif speaks so much of her. Plastering pearls all over the layout indeed made me smile. thanks janis for this opportunity to scrap something so close to my heart :)

What I learned:
- how to pray the rosary
- bike without training wheels
- how to cook
- make shampoo out of aloe vera
- how to sew

Materials used:
DCWV glitter patterned papers for the background, swirl accents and circle cut outs, pink paislee office lingo round table scallop, imaginisce patterned paper for the flower cut outs, kaiser pearls, generic cream pearl beads, glass beads in copper and green, heidi swapp florals, prima flowers, petallo flowers, MM slice noteworthy flower and alpha design, ALS flower die cuts and brads, queen and co. brads, WRMK orange grommet, fancy pants rub ons, K & co brenda walton dollhouse chipboard, DCWV swirly swirl template.

Technique used:
Hand sewing - for the pearl and glass beads on the corners and the title
layering for the flowers and glitter dots

About ME:

Hi! I'm Cheska Herrera, 24 and from Dipolog City. I was just approved membership a few days ago and this is my very first challenge entry with any scrap group!! I started scrapbooking in January/February this year and as such, familiarizing myself still with the materials and techniques. But am super duper enjoying every bit of it!! Excited to learn so much more with everyone :)
