Big Bad Mama

Lee says, KAYA!

This challenge really got me stamped! I have used stamps to make titles before, but for some reason, this challenge had me wanting to do more. I think I over-exerted myself. :-)

This layout was inspired by Panjee Gonzales' article about being a mom which I read at Leir's blog.

It's not easy to be a SAHM. You are on call 24 hours a day. It is particularly hard now that my yaya decided to take a permanent vacation. I have a long list of "things to do" for my DH and 3 KiDS everyday. But sometimes I forget and the entire household runs amok. Many times I lose it. I become upset...mad. I lose my patience. I raise my voice. I turn into a bad mama. And when that happens. I don't like myself at all.

Materials Used:
Papers - Basic Grey Sublime Collection; Stamps for title - Making Memories Mixed Font foam stamps; MM acrylic paint - Espresso; Stamp on photo - Autumn Leaves "Invent Yourself It's Up To You"; Stamp on paragraph - Making Memories Magnetic Alphabet; unknown tags.

Techniques:
Paper tearing, lots of stamping. And lots of mistakes. It's not easy to stamp letters or words. Sometimes they come out baligtad. So to make sure, I end up stamping on scratch paper first.

About ME:
Will update this part later, right now, I have to rush to CCP cause my DH wants to watch Pisay. Now showing at the Cinemalaya 2007 Festival. See? I am a good wife. :-)

Friends

Pearl says KAYA!

I have been wanting to scrap this pic of me and my friends Marian and Joy taken last May during our stroll along Orchard Road

Journaling:
A friend drops their plans when you're in trouble, shares joys in your accomplishments, feels sad when you are in pain, encourages your dreams and offers advice - but when you don't follow it, they still respect and love you. - by unknown.

Materials used:
Patterned papers: Jenni Bowlin Studios, Fancy Pants; Pens: American Crafts & Staedler; Plastic Brackets: American Crafts; Stamps: Technique Tuesday and October Afternoon (from the June 07 Story of My Own kit); Stamping ink: Tsukineko and Technique Tuesday

About ME:
My name is Pearl: avid scrapbooker, 90's music lover, coffee drinker. I am exploring the world and it's possibilities and opportunities for me - that's why I took this chance to work in Singapore. Three months into this country, I have now learned (more or less) to understand Sing-lish, that lugging an umbrella is not a fashion statement but a necessity, 'aiyo-lah!', and loving ban-mian so much I could have it every meal! Still missing Manila terribly.. Visit my blog at www.scrap-pjane-scrap.blogspot.com

the Story of Pamela doll

Donna says, KAYA!

This is what I call RUSH!!! Been so busy with important stuff and I had to go home as fast as I could just to MAKE a layout for Kaya 3 (I'm still panting as I am typing this!!)
This is a layout about my niece's doll, Pamela. TFL! :)

Journaling:
"Your doll's real name is ERIKA, we just renamed her PAMELA because MAMA DALLY's and my favorite PBB2 housemate, Gee-ann, has a doll named PAMELA :) Eversince then, you never let your doll out of your sight. Wherever you go, even to the bathroom/toilet, you like to take her with you. I think you love her so much..you even bathe her in the toilet bowl! hehe :)

You really are sweet, you know that? :) (heart)lots~T.Donna"

Materials/Techniques:
MME Bohemia pp, Fancy Pants pp, MM foam stamps, MM paint and clear glaze, Tim Holtz DI Fired Brick, American Crafts and Staedtler pen, brown ribbon.

Cut almost 5x7 Fancy Pants floral pp for matting and some flowers from Fancy Pants pp to match. Adhered and stamped on the far left and lower right corners and dotted the edges of the stamped image to enhance it a little bit. Adhered the brown ribbon first before placing the cut flowers which were glazed and curled the tips to give some flair. As usual, I handcut the letters of the title from chipboard, painted it white and handwritten the letters on the "blocks" then dabbed DI before topping it with clear glaze. Wrote the journaling after.

About ME:
I am Donna Espiritu (or Donna Ong, to some~long story behind this one, maybe I should scrapbook it hehehe), married but no kids yet. I'm a scrapbook addict but not a scrapaholic (hmm???) I am moody but I prefer making other people feel comfortable around me so I usually set aside that part of my personality :)

My Little Boy BLUE

Cookie says, KAYA!

Hello! Finally, I was able to finish my LO even if I don't own any stamps. Thanks to Tin and Mia for lending me your stamps during the July 15 EB. I really had a hard time figuring out what my LO would look like considering I only have 3 pieces of usable stamped acetate and cardstock. (There was not enough time for me to stamp during the EB because my husband picked me up a little early.) Actually I'm still afraid to stamp but I also plan on buying my own stamps because I learned different ways on how to use it. Anyway, here's my LO, hope you guys like it.

Yumm!

Au says, KAYA!

I looove stamping! I think it's a great (and ultimately cheaper) way to decorate one's pages. I usually rather buy stamps and inks than rubons and stickers because stamps never run out and I get them in colors i want. I was eagerly anticipating this month's challenge and wanted to do a LOT of stamping on the LO. Unfortunately, time constraints still prevented me from executing what I planned. But I did totally enjoy doing this LO despite that fact that it made me hungry while working on it. This one is based on a Pagemaps sketch in the May 2007 issue.

Hidden Journalling on the "The Story of:" tag reads:
Nita and I were cruising along T. Morato when she asked if I've tried this resto (The Red Crab). I said no so she immediately parked. The place was closing for the night but i cajoled the waiter to let us in. Boy! -- did i love meeting CRAB MARITESS with Laguna Salad on the side. Totally yummy with lots of garlic and olive oil to drizzle over hot rice. Uh-ummm!

Materials used:
Cosmo Cricket and Daisy D's papers. Stamping applications were the title Yumm! with foam stamps and acrylic paint, the red lace frame with Hero Arts rubber stamps and red embossing powder, and the strip journalling with Provocraft rolling stamp Circa and black inkpad. Other materials are 7gypsies tag, red vellum, lace and buttons from Divi. Edge distressing photos with Brilliance inks and papers with Distress Ink Tea Dye.

Hi! I'm Au Lim and I'm a stamping addict. I love crafts and have tried everything from cross-stitching, crocheting, quilting, candle and soap making. However, i have never been more hooked on anything than scrapbooking and lately, stamping. Mom to 5 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 fishes, and 2 turtles, yep our small home is a menagerie. Working for our humble biz, Ideas Enterprises, with hubby making CAD signages and also running Simply-Scrappy.com on the side. I often think work gets in the way of play.

Loving the Liberated Liberal Life (LLLL!)

Julie says, KAYA!

My hubby, Jeff, circa 1998, at Gino’s East, on one of our yearly get-aways. Another page for our Travel Album.

Journaling:
“Loving life like a liberated liberal” – taking respite from the uptightness, political correctness and workaholism of Washington, D.C. where we both worked in executive positions downtown. Every year in Chicago, we go to Gino’s, enjoy friends, family, the sense of humor, and liberating ambience (must be the rust, graffiti and cholesterol). There’s always a long line to get into Gino’s, but it is worth the wait. I Love You More (than I love pizza and beer). Surprisingly, I find this place quite romantic!

Materials Used:
Karen Foster Cork, Rubber Stamps, AL Clear Stamps, Acrylics, Staz-on, printed, already-embossed, and scalloped PP’s, ribbons, rhinestones, flowers, brads, CM Pens, stitches & rub-ons.

Techniques:
I call it the Graffiti technique – stick, stamp, paste away anywhere you’d like – no patterns, no rules (but it didn’t quite turn out that way – I’m still square!).

Finger painting - inspired by my 4-yr old working next to me: yellows, greens and reds are finger painted on cork, then stamped with different color acrylics.

Pouncing edges with stamp/ink.

Stamping using acrylic paints and ink on cork, paper, ribbons, and metal.

Some handwritten journaling.

When I’m not driving my kids to school, cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, I work primarily from home as President & CEO of an S Corporation, an international Human Resources and Learning Management Consulting firm that I started 4 years ago (was a Senior HR Professional for 12 years). Very hands-on with www.bookoto.com, a business I share with a very good friend, Sheryl, who is equally as passionate. My kids and I are scrapbook hobbyists for about a year now. This hobby satisfies my needs to organize, unclutter, and tuck away safely all my happy memories. I am kind to everyone. I’m a people-person. I make new friends easily, and my old friends are for keeps. I admire people with a holistic approach to life.

About ME:
I'm Mia, 28 years old. I used to study interior design and architecture so I guess it was very normal for me to fall in love with scrapbooking. I was introduced to scrapbooking by my friend Anna about 10 months ago and dove head first. I'm a certified scrapaholic. Ask any of the girls at the EBs and they can testify to this. Oh and I recently got a die cutting machine! More gastos hahaha! Since I've only been scrapping for this short period of time, I consider myself a newbie. I'm mostly a paper scrapper but I've began dabbling into doing hybrid. Digi scrapping sounds cool but I prefer the look and feel of paper scrapping anyday, which is why hybrid is as far as I will go into the digi scrapping world.

About Me:
I am Diane, 23 years old from Bicol, Philippines. I've been married to Jun for 3 years. And a mom to my two little angel up in heaven named Huey Dhale(3 years old) and Riyo(6weeks old on my tummy). I am a paper and digital scrapbooker. I've been hooked to scrapbooking since May of 2005. I love Photography. Someday I want to have a good camera like Nikon or Canon. I also love to doodle on my LO's. This gives my LO's a personal touch.
