Prison Break fanatics are actually my husband and my brother in-law who love to watch this show until one night I watched the DVD because I was curiuos what they were talking about. When I saw Wentworth Miller everytime he mentioned his name "Michael Scofield" on that series I can only say, "Aaahhhh! Ang gwapo nya, Daddy!!!"

Mel says, KAYA!

This is my first time to join Kaya. Kinaya ko talaga sya. Daniel Radcliffe is my star of choice because judging from my collection of paper clippings about Harry Potter, I have collected half of a clear book regarding all their press releases and Junior Inquirer magazine features. He makes me feel like a teenybopper crushing on a Hollywood star.

Journaling:
"Daniel Radcliffe, the boy who grew up before my eyes. I first watched Daniel as Harry Potter before I read the book, curious about all the hype on this book turned movie. After one movie, it was hard not to read all the books without imagining Daniel as Harry Potter. His portrayal of the famous character "the boy who lived" brought me back to my love of books. I feel like a gushing thirteen year old. :)"

Materials Used:
Photos from the net, Elsie love notes pp, scenic route pp, scenic route star chipboards embellished with Whispers snow tinsel embossing powder, gold glitters, glitter glue red and clear, silver embossed. Foam tape, monograms, round bling brads. Autumn leaves flourish stamps, inks.

Techniques Used:
Inking the edges, stamping, embossing, layering, open flap journalling.

About Me:
I'm Mel Tiglao, 30, a mom to a cute 3 year old boy, an artist at heart, a collector of lots of things... paper clippings of my fave stars, recipes, pics, magazines, comic strips etc etc. I've been a member of PS for less than a year. I've been a scrapbooker for a long time even before they had a name for it. Of course in those times acid-free wasn't heard of yet and stickers were the rage.

Hard to Hold

Lee says, KAYA!

I must admit Mia's challenge had me stumped for a few weeks because I really didn't have the "hots" for anybody aside from my DH (just in case he is reading this) right now. But when I was a hot-blooded teenager, I sure had the hots for many singers/actors. And at the risk of revealing my age, I decided to scrap someone I idolized in the 80s. This decision also helped me make a small dent on my "need to scrap" photos. I'm glad I kept that cutout photo of dear Rick, too. Yup, it's the same photo on my red memo board (see bottom photo) when I was a freshman. (I wonder where my posters went?)

Journaling:
In college, I had a major crush on Rick Springfield. I had his posters plastered on my dorm walls. I cut out his pictures from Jingle Song Hits. He watched over me as I studied and slept. I played his cassette tape out louad until my dorm mates complained. I even rented his movie "Hard to Hold" and saw it over and over on my cousin Benjo's betamax. He was so handsome and sexy and when he sings "Jessie's Girl" with fire and passion, I wished I was going out with a boy named Jessie.

Materials Used:
PPS - DCWV (Retro and Glitter packs); Glitter - Stickles; Paint - MM Glitter Glaze; Diecut - Cuttlebug; Pen - Uniball Signo; Adhesives - UHU glue.

About ME:
I've been scrapping since mid-2006, and I'm hoping to scrap my photos in shoeboxes before I turn any older. When I decided to scrap about Rick Springfield a.ka. Dr. Noah Drake in General Hospital, the first thing I did was to check if he was still alive. LOL. He is still, sexy as ever and is currently touring. Maybe if he ever performs in Manila, I will watch him. Too bad my husband's name is not Jessie. Hehe.

My Hero, My Fascination

Gaye says, KAYA!

I've been swamped with work this past weeks. And since sleep is elusive tonight, I decided to make this LO. I got so engrossed I didn't notice that it's already past 2AM! Oh well, better late than never!

I've always had a crush on Milo Ventimiglia. The first time I saw him (I didn't even know his name!), I immediately liked him - rugged, boyish charm. (Pray DH doesn't read this! LOL)

Journaling:
Peter Petrelli: "I've been up here all night-thinking about this, thinking about my destiny." Milo's character in 'Heroes' kicks a** in the series. Who wouldn't love him?

Materials Used:
Gypsy Treasures - designs by krista; A Touch of Bling; Edge-Chalked white by Lauren Bavin; Flourish bling, Heart bling by FeiFei; Brown stitch by MDSRubia; Shabby Princess Kiwi Alpha; Old World Writing brush; Fonts - Handwriting, Street-Thin

Depp Impact

Beth says, KAYA!

I enjoyed this month’s challenge tremendously. It made me reminisce about my crushes as far back as during my teen years. I considered doing a layout on Shaun Cassidy or Scott Baio or Robbie Benson or Erik Estrada or Leif Garrett, (heheh…I’m sure most of you are wondering who these people are) but decided to do one on Johnny Depp. I started watching Johnny Depp much later than the others. But up ‘til now, I still enjoy his movies and find him gorgeous (even when he’s portraying a weird character).

Journaling:
I never went for the cute and clean cut guys. For me, wild and brusque is sexier… hotter…. But they say that he has mellowed since becoming a father.

I’ve been swooning over Johnny since his 21 Jump Street days. He has been named by People Magazine as the Sexiest Man Alive in 2003. Likewise, his versatility as an actor has allowed him to portray a wide range of characters from an ordinary person to oddball characters such as a pirate, a killer, an artificial man with scissor limbs, an alien astronaut, a weird candymaker, etc.

MM Scrapbook Shimmer – plum

About me:
I’ve been scrapping traditionally for over a year now but have just tried digital scrapbooking last month. Viewing the works and reading about the accomplishments of the talented ladies of PS and SE have given me inspiration to keep on scrapping with the hope that one day I will also be able to produce layouts as fantastic as theirs.

Wills

CH says, KAYA!

I may have a lot of celebrity crushes but only one guy has been #1 ever since -- Prince William. Too bad there's news that he might get married next year! I super admire him, not only for his looks (that's a big factor though haha!) but also for his heart, how he is trying to continue what his mother, Princess Diana started.

He just seems so real and grounded and maybe trying to be normal (although he never will be). Sayang, imagine, yung girlfriend niya, classmate lang niya sa college. CLASSMATE! Wala lang. Maybe if I went to St. Andrews and just so happened to be seatmates with him I'd be somewhere else now..

Joke! :) A girl can dream!

Thanks for this challenge Mia! I finally got to do a page about Wills :)

Journaling:
Prince William. Where do I even begin.

What I like most about Prince William is how much he reminds me (and maybe everyone) of Princess Diana -- how he reflects her compassion for the poor, his charisma, and I might say, he did inherit her good looks! I also love the fact that he seems so real -- on his 21st birthday, he requested that people call him "just William" instead of using all the big fancy titles. He still sports that college boy look -- tall, nice shoulders and a smile to die for (nevermind the fact
that he's getting bald!)

People are giving up on you Wills, what with your possible marriage this year and your receeding hairline! They can say what they want to say -- even when you get old and become King (and probably begin to look more like Prince Charles in the process), I'll still be fangirling over your paparazzi shots!!

About me:
CH is currently finishing up work and will soon be unemployed! I'm going to be enrolling in a magazine design diploma course in hopes of getting into the magazine industry because it's really what I've been wanting to do. I love scrapbooking mainly because it's a mixture of all the things I love the most -- photography, paper and history. Sometimes I see layouts in my head, but usually a great photo or a funny memory inspires me to scrap. My scrap table is STILL my bedroom floor, but I'm trying to find ways to reorganize my space (scraproom!). I'm over at http://ch.vox.com.

Josh Hartnett

Jill says, KAYA!

I first noticed Josh in the movie Wicker Park. He seems quiet, appealing, centered and intelligent. ( I prefer quiet guys than noisy ones...a bit mysterious.) He also has a great style which i believe is captivating. This star certainly SHINES !

McDreamy

Cosette says, KAYA!

Being a Grey's Anatomy addict, I decided to make an LO of Patrick "Dr. Mcdreamy" Dempsey :) (I'm with you Diane!!) . If you watch this show, you would definitely understand why I would want to marry him in the next lifetime.. :) And oh, in 2007 this guy was named Star of the Year by the People Magazine. cool.

Mr. Big

Kaje says, KAYA!

I honestly had a hard time thinking about this challenge. I almost told myself I won't be able to join this month (thus breaking the promise I made to myself). I love Richard Gere and George Clooney comes in close second, but since they were already done, I figured I should choose someone else. Tom Cruise was once a hottie for me until he got insane and jumped on Oprah's couch, LOL! But today, while browsing one forum, an inspiration hit me and started working on my LO right away (smiling and very kilig while doing this, fyi :)). Why didn't I think of Mr. Big right away?!?! Ain't it obvious my weaknesses are old men with nice eyes and killer smile? *swoon*

Thanks Mia for the challenge!

Journaling:
Those piercing eyes exude mystery. That serious look tells me the man means business. I love real BIG men. It's hard not to fantasize about what Mr. Big wants to do with ME. *wink.wink* Wait until he smiles. I think I'm gonna faint. LOL!

About me:

I am Kaje, just turned 30 and married to my funny best friend for almost two years now. I've always wanted to scrap traditionally but there are a lot of limitations (ie.expensive and I don't have the space). Ever since I discovered Digitalscrapbooking in 2005, I'm hooked. I haven't made many layouts because I've been spending time learning and reading stuff (actually tried to learn Photoshop because I really wanna scrap! LOL!). One of my goals for 2008, actually, is to scrap more. :) More about me may be found here and here.

I am the SKY

Sheryl says, KAYA!

I didn't think I would be able to join this month's challenge. I couldn't think of a personal challenge except for the vague notion of scrapbooking my need to be known and recognized as my own person, not as a wife and a mother, but someone apart and beyond these titles. You can tell that it's quite sketchy so I gave it up. Until last Monday, something unfortunate happened at work. I won't go into the details but I think, I learned a lot from that episode. I am happy that I have not compromised my personal principles and beliefs, that despite the hurt and shame it caused me no matter how uncalled for, I stood my ground, filed a rather damaging but factual testimony with our HR about the person involved, and more than that, I would have the pleasure of NOT dealing, working, talking, breathing in the same air as he. Some well -meaning friends at work advised me that my resignation is running away; that sooner or later there is always that person who would take pleasure in other people's humiliation. But I know myself: I do not have the guts to cross common decency and courtesy. There is just so much I can take and I'd rather leave the company than get stuck in the same elevator with the person. I'm just really grateful I can afford it. My husband even drafted my resignation letter for me. :-)

The title is part of a mantra/quote from the Australian Indie movie "Why I Wore Lipstick to my Mastectomy". I have adapted it to be my personal mantra from the time the above incident happened. It's a very challenging mantra because it means I should rise above all my challenges, whether at work, at home, or with my social circles. I also understand it to being true to myself and never allow other people to tell me otherwise. Being formidable, relentless, brave in the face of my struggles and challenges. I owe it to myself to live a dignified and respected life.

But I think the best part of all this is the possibility of re-uniting with my beloved scrapbook materials. Hehehe Honestly, I missed scrapbooking. Now, I am happy to be back! :-)
Journaling:
"...nothing can stick to me. Planes fly through me. Storms roar past me. The sky is vast and open. It stays unchanged, no matter what happens to it."
--WHY I WORE LIPSTICK TO MY MASTECTOMY (2005)

It has been a difficult week. I never thought I would get affected by something, by somebody so much. I always see myself as a strong person, that I could weather anything and at the end of it all, stand victorious.
But Monday, May 26, 2008, past 3PM changed ALL that. To be humiliated in public, in front of your boss and colleagues, is bad enough; to be subjected to this experience because you did your job is the worst feeling in the world. The incident, unfortunate as it was, caused me to tender an immediate resignation though my boss and HR are yet to accept it.
And yet, looking back I realized it also did me good. I realized that I HAVE A CHOICE TO RID MYSELF OF NEGATIVE ENERGIES, PEOPLE INCLUDED. That I am lucky to have that choice, that compare with others before me, I do not have to suffer in silence. That I could stand up to anybody, no matter what their designations/ positions in life are because they wronged ME. I am brave. I am a woman. I will TRY to be THE SKY!

Miller Groban Jolie

Au says, "KAYA!"

it was so hard to decide on just one idol to scrap about so i picked 3 instead. and these 3 will have to take the top spots among my many idols. Wentworth Miller is one of my best TV favorites because of his extreme good looks and mesmerizing gaze. Josh Groban is a multitalented person who i love not just for his amazing voice but also because i find it really hot when he plays the piano or drums. Angelina Jolie is a lady i admire because not only is she unbelievably beautiful physically but she is also beautiful where it really matters. she is one of the rare people whose inner and outer beauty matches. to top it off, i also love that she is a bit crazy(and i mean that in a good way) and has multiple tattoos i like!

i have always been a fan of the vintage and distressed styles but i am actually in graphic mood lately. since its rare for me to get the chance these days, i was so happy to do another one in this mode. to match it, i wanted the journaling to be truncated as well. so i limited myself to 3 words that best describe why i adore these people.

Journaling:
Wentworth Miller: intense.sexy.hot
Josh Groban: voice.talent.yummy
Angelina Jolie: crazy.beautiful.human

Materials used: Bazzill cardstock, American Crafts paper, Darice foamies, QK Metro dies, handcut letters, assorted blings from Divi, Reese glitter glue, Radiant Rain Shimmer spray.

About Me: i am a TV junkie aside from a scrap-addict. i used to have a problem how to do them at the same time. i run from tv to scraptable and back. good thing hubby gifted me with a small dvd player with a little video screen. now i watch my favorite tv series(es?) on dvd while scrapping! i also design for this great little kit outfit called Studio Azul, the first in the Philippines. i do like blogging too and i do it here AND here.

Christine says, KAYA!
yep. so many boys, so little time, i always say. ha! i couldn't decide on any one particular boylet, so i decided to showcase at least 4 of them! whehehehe. i've been itching to do this forever but i had to bide my time as I searched for the perfect photos and collected the bling bling i needed for this challenge.

may I now present to you 'some' of the boys in the industry who tickle my fancy =) (kikay!!)

About ME:
Married, with 2 kids - DD 8 and DS 5, part-time lecturer on restaurant operations. I have been scrapping on and off since 1984 using non-archival safe products (because I thought the acid-free stuff around that time looked cheesy, haha). I converted to the "other side" in 2006 when I saw gorgeous acid-free papers and other supplies. I've also dabbled in other crafts such as cross-stitching and candle-making. (he said) Hey!! Jambalaya

Tin says Kaya!

Mia knew this from the start, who I would be scrapping as my ultimate crush (or one of them LOL) for this months challenge . . . I'm not sure if everyone is familiar with this gorgeous crooner, just to hear his name is enough to make me swoon!

No, he's NOT like Michael Buble, don't get me wrong i like Mr. Buble just fine but long before he came along was Harry Connick, Jr. He's an actor, composer, singer, etc. etc. it was because of this hunk o' man (hehe) that I am now a fan of the classics, of jazz and true blue rythm and blues and not the hippity hop kind mind you :-)

And so, an ode to my all-time idol I give you Hey! Jambalaya . . . (which incidentally is the title of a song. Harry made his own version of this old New Orleans classic with a twist of swing!)

Journalling:

(Front Page)
Circa 1990, the Arsenio Hall Show . . . a gorgeous New Orleans native was conducting a big band. He had a voice reminiscent of ol' blue eyes with a dash of rythm and blues . . . it was love at first sight!

(Back Page)
Because of Harry . . .
I am now a big fan of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and a whole new genre I never even knew!
Because of Harry . . .
old classics had a new flavor, a mix of the blues, New Orleans, dixie and jazz . . . much like Gumbo! A whole stewpot of goodness!
Because of Harry . . .
Art bought tickets to his FIRST concert in Manila . . . despite that we didn't catch the first part of the show the rest of the evening was divine.

{abs}olute hunk

Cel says, KAYA!

I really liked Ryan Reynolds on 2 Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place I thought he was really funny. But when I saw him on Blade Trinity, whoa! Those are really nice abs! I dunno but I think I am a sucker for six-packed and chinky-eyed guys.

Journaling:
It's all about the abs baby! And those chinky eyes, and that brown hair, and that knowing smile, just gotta love Ryan Reynolds!

Patterned papers {DCWV-background + blue squares}{Fancy Pants-purple circles + blue vintage}, Chipboards {Heidi Swapp-absolute}{Maya Road-circle + oblong shapes}{BasicGrey-Star}, Stamps {Inque Botique-corner + brackets}{Studio Azul-grid}, Paper Frills {Doodlebug Designs}, Flower Sequins {Doodlebug Designs}, Alpha bling {Prima Say it in Crystals}, Pen (Sakura-glitter gold}, Glitters {Craft World-bronze}, Stickers {Clipper, TriNoma-hearts and stars}.

About Me:
I'm new to this hobby, just started early in 2007. I try to scrap during my free time which is scarce since I am currently working for a public accounting firm so the time during December to April is a very busy time for me, meaning less time to scrap! I love the works of Ali Edwards, Jessica Sprague, Susan Weinroth, Iris, Ria, Pia, CH, Cookie, Bjay and a whole lot of the members of SE and PS. Most of layouts are about my friends, family, and me and bf of almost 10 years, Ivan. I am also very interested in photography and plan to join a beginners class in the near future. I hope I'd get to know you all and attend the EBs hopefully if its close to Quezon City. Do visit me at my blog http://scrapgurl14.blogspot.com.

Elvis the Rockstrar

Ching says, KAYA!

I'm excited! This is my first time to join the KAYANG-KAYA, KAYA! Challenge. I chose Elvis Presley as my entry in this challenge. As a young woman, whenever I saw or heard him singing, I could never sit down. I would race up and down the aisles in the concert halls. Now, years after his death, I still listen to him on my MP3 player in the quiet comfort of my home. I still enjoy, immensely, his every performance.

Elvis Presley is one the most important figures of Twentieth Century popular culture.

Journaling:
P - Peerless. He was matchless in musical performance.
O - Overwhelming with emotion when he sang. Its like he was singing love songs only to me.
G - Gentle and mild in manner and disposition.
I - Incredible and extra-ordinary; imperial in every way.

Materials used:
DCWV metallic patterned papers, cardstock, die-cut chipboard alphabets with glitters, monogram embellishments, glitter glue, gelly roll metallic pens for journaling, photo from entertainment webshot.com

Techniques:
Designed the monogram embellishments and journaling, glitter glued the stars and side of the guitar and cropped pictures.

About Me:
My name is Ching, a stay at home mom to a 15 year old son, married to a wonderful man, named Bob. We live on the southeast coast of USA. I started scrapbooking in 2004, but like most, I have more supplies than pages, done. I eagerly begun scrapping again when I joined the PinoySrapbookers group on January 2008 and quickly did some albums of layouts for my family. I love to make double layout with 2 to 4 photos each.
