These guys (I miss)

Cel says, KAYA!

I am so thankful to Marj for the four challenges, I was able to complete 4 layouts, and a 2-pager at that! This is my first ever time to make a 2-page layout. And I'm glad I did because I've been meaning to make one since I've got a lot of photos for a single event such as this one here. I used a cream cardstock because the photos were dark and busy, and I kept the embellishments to a minimum.

Journaling:
It's been two weeks since my last day at P&A. And since it's Thanksgiving in the U.S. and therefore also holiday at Shell, I decided tonight will be my sorta farewell party. Only a few people were invited. Only those that I'm really friends with. Not saying that I only have a few friends at P&A, but because almost all my friends there have already gone to other companies. The friends you keep at P&A are the ones who will make you stay. It's really the kind of people and the environment that will keep you from resigning. And so I miss these guys. The frequent coffee breaks, the chats, parties like these during summer outings... I will definitely miss. And thank you for all the wonderful memories at P&A.

Materials Used:
CS {Provo Craft}, PP {Arctic Frog}, stickers {7 gypsies}, alpha {AC Thickers}, stamps {alpha-EK Success, Photolog & All of us-Fontwerks, Good times & date-October Afternoon, journaling lines-Fancy Pants}, journaling note {Elle's Studio}.

About ME:
I am a senior associate in a public accounting firm. I became addicted to this hobby in 2007. Most of my layouts are about my friends, family, and me and bf of more than 10 years, Ivan. I am also very interested in photography and plan to join a beginners class in the near future. I hope I'd get to know you all and attend the EBs hopefully if its close to Quezon City. Do visit me at my blog http://scrapgurl14.blogspot.com.

First Haircut

Marian says, KAYA!

Journalling: You were born with fine thin hair. It seemed like it wasn't growing or getting thick. The only evidence of growth we could see was the little lock of bangs in the middle of your forehead. It was not enough to hold in a baby clip so you looked quite messy.
So at 11 and a half months, mommy took you to Cuts For Tots in Glorietta Mall for your first haircut. You sat in the toy car seat watching Barney while they cut your hair. You looked quite neat after but there really wasn't a big change when we look at the before and after photos.

Materials: Fabriano CS, patterned papers from Fancy Pants Crush Line (In Love, First Date,Twitterpated & Head over Heels), Scenic Route Chipboard, Collage Press letter stickers,MM mini letters, Tsukineko ink, Ranger Sepia Accents,Prima self adhesive die cut, All About Scrapbooking bling, Doodlebug brown glitter

Techniques: simple cut and paste, outlining center of flowers with Sepia Accents, sprayed the Prima diecut with Glimmer Mist and Radiant Rain, painted the chipboard brown then added glitter, cut out some flowers from the patterned paper and curled the edges

About ME:

After going through a series of different arts and crafts, I have finally settled with stamping, cardmaking and scrapbooking.

Ordinary days

Nina says, KAYA!

Journaling:
I've been feeling sentimental lately, knowing that next year we'll be living in Pasig. So each day we spend, even an ordinary day like this one at SM Mall of Asia, becomes extra special.

Materials:

I Heart My Garden

Roxannee says, KAYA!

I had a hard time looking for pictures to scrap...so I took photographs of my plants.

Journaling :
I've always thought that I don't have a GREEN thumb. With the kind of climate here in Australia, it is not very easy to grow plants. But it's only a matter of CHOICE what to have in the garden...And if I LOVE what I'm doing, nothing is impossible.

I learned to LOVE succulents...they are very HARDY and fun to grow. Roses are needy, they are like us women- moody, fragile, but irresistible and beautiful.
Roxannee 2008

Materials:
white cardstock, fancy pants and inque boutique stamps, brilliance inks, blings, fountain pen, pink vellum (heart), corner rounder punch.

Zabeth Says Kaya!

Yupee! It's final week for the Kaya challenge. Thanks Marj for the challenge's it's really Kaya-Kaya!

Love That Lolly

Mia says, KAYA!

Honestly? I found this challenge a little intimidating. The last time I made a double page layout was back in 2006! Oh, I love Becky Higgins and her double layout sketches. But I just haven't done something like this in a looong time. I actually felt like an amateur. Harharhar!

Thanks, Marj, for challenging us the whole month of November! I think I visited the Kaya blog everyday just to check what's new. :-)

Materials Used:
Prima papers and flowers; Bazzil cardstock; Autumn Leaves chipboard flourish; AMM brads; Heide Swapp flower; Love Elsie epoxy sticker; Imaginesce stamp; Alpha stickers - Scenic Route, AAS, Craft Express; Staedler pen; Colorbox ink; Fiskars lace border puncher

Journaling:
I do not usually encourage eating sweets at such a young age. But it would be very unfair if I let your sisters eat the lollipop and say 'no' to you. So I relented and allowed you your first lollipop. Funny because you didn't know how to suck it! You bit into it and kept at it until you started drooling. You are such a cutie baby! We love you! - Alyssa, age 1

About ME:
I am in my mid-thirties, married to my bestfriend, Mier, for 8 years and blessed with three beautiful princesses, Nadine (age 7), Raya (age 5) and Alyssa (1 year). I have been fixing my photos since high school but got really serious (as in using acid free materials) in 2004 after my 2nd daughter was born. Since then I've been hooked! Took a break in 2007 when I had a difficult pregnancy with my 3rd baby but I'm now back and more addicted than ever! I believe the heart of my layouts is my journaling. I scrapbook to share myself and my stories to my children.

Susie says, KAYA!

This challenge is easy for me as i always do double-pagers. If I join KAYA or other contests then that's the only time I do one page. But i still make sure the next page has the same paper or color. I like to put lots of photos so a double-pager is ideal for me.

FAMILY SNOW FUN

Ching says, KAYA!

I love this final challenge ! I haven’t made any double page layout since I joined the Challenges. Thanks Marj. I enjoyed making this double page layout.

Journaling:
In winter, snow fall brings out the child in all of us, as we have snow-ball fights, make angels in the snow, flopping on sleds and tobogganing.

The weather was cold that day. It was nice to see the white snow. I planned an afternoon of snow-fun outside with my dad and sister. We bundled up with loosely layered clothing, under a waterproof coat, fur-line gloves, wooly hats, boots and scarves. A day of fun in the snow was enjoyable as everybody was warm and comfortable.

My dad was sledding on a nice, but not too steep a hill. My sister and I enjoyed snow- ball fights. After an enjoyable cold past time, we shivered into the house where my mom had hot chocolate drinks for all of us.

Materials Used:
Me & My Big Ideas pattern paper, The Paper Company cardstock and vellum, Colorbok chipboard letters, Making Memories label holder and brads, Scotch double sided tape,
Photo sticker square, Ribbons, Fibers.

Techniques:
Paper tearing, layering, matting

About Me:
My name is Ching, a SAHM to a 16 year old son, married to a wonderful man. We live on the southeast coast of USA. I started scrapbooking in 2004, but like most, I have more supplies than pages, done. I eagerly begun scrapping again when I joined the PinoySrapbookers group on January 2008 and quickly did some albums of layouts for my family. I love to make double layouts with 2 to 4 photos each.

Play Hard

Barbie says, KAYA!

Aaaack, barely made it! These challenges are truly challenging when the week's so hectic, though I have scrapped more than ever trying to find a good page to submit. :D

I used pictures from my family's trip last November 8. Bolinao doesn't offer much in the way of swimming spots, but it does have fantastic beaches, and the weather was right for endless volleyball games.

Journaling:
What do you get when you put four A-type personalities on a stretch of lonely beach with a volleyball and a net? All-out war!! Later, the game degenerated into a rousing game of touchball.
