Hidden Treasure

Gracie says, KAYA!

I wasn't quite sure at first what to do with my LO. I didn't know what memorabilia I should use until I remembered my grandpa. He's not really my grandfather by blood since he's my step-father's dad but he treated me like his own grand daughter. After he died, we discovered his hidden treasure from his bedroom. That's where I got the inspiration for my 1st LO for 2009.

Journaling Reads:

A few days after lolo Pete died, we were all surprised to find a box in his room where he kept his "hidden treasures". Inside the box were cards that people gave him and even the money they gave were still in the cards. Dad gave us these money which are no longer in circulation. You would think they're still new because they're still crisp, but when you look at the year printed on them, you'll see they're from 1949!

Materials Used:
PPs & Stamp- Fancy Pants, CS-Bazill Basics, Rub-ons- Craft Express, Ink-Whispers, Flowers- Prima, Alpha Stickers-Misc.- lace, string of pearls, acetate, gold thread, button & the actual money

Techniques Used:
Distressing, Stamping & Stitching ( I stitched an acetate on the PP to create pockets for the pics & the money)

About ME:
I'm a scrap addict from Angeles City, married to a loving husband, Mark and a mother to a very cute daughter named Marcie. I am a lover of arts & crafts and have been for almost 10 years now. I started scrapbooking in 1999 but stopped along the way. I then fell in love with other crafts like card making, cross-stitching, paper crafts and creating new things from recycled materials. I found my way back to scrapbooking again last July 2008 when I attended my first Scrap Jam here in the Angeles City and I've been hooked to the art again since then. My style with my creations vary depending on my mood or inspiration. I always see to it that every work of art I make is created with love. Visit me here. TFL!

Thanks for the comments. It took me a while to come up with something. The sewing part was the longest thing I had to do since I had to hand-stitch the pockets. Wala akong sewing machine eh. Hehe.

we don't have those in circulation anymore - kaya the best yang ginawa mo :)

I kept my lolo's fifty centavo bill... kaya lang nung bata ako, I drew a cocakroach image on it, face side up :( but at least I still have it.
