KAYA 26 – THE PEARL CHALLENGE

I am soo honored to be invited as the guest challenger for the month of June - - my birth month. When Lee asked me, I already have a particular challenge in mind - - for this will definitely help me in my future magazine work (wink, wink). I'm sure you are familiar that June's birthstone is pearl. And so, I give you:

The Pearl Challenge!

Guidelines:

1) Your layout must have pearls - - choose from pearl centers, conchos, brads, stickers, buttons, accents and beads (basta perlas!). Sorry, but liquid pearls and pearl fabric paints do not count (although you may use them in your layouts if desired). Make sure to mention what kind of pearls did you use in your write-up.

2) Any size/number of photos of yourself (may or may not be with other people).

3) Layouts can be 12x12 or 8.5x11, should be traditional.

4) Layout must be made specifically for Kaya 26.

5) You may submit as many layouts as you want but you will only be entered once in the drawing.

6) Deadline for submissions for this challenge is on June 29, 2009 at 11:59PM.

7) Random drawing will be on June 30, 2009. The winner of the RAK will receive this:

The loot consists of 28 12x12 papers (a paper everyday of June until we reach my birthday!), some embellishments, an MM flip frame album, and an AMM accordion album. It's not much, but I do hope you join in the fun - - just consider it as your birthday gift to me. ;o)

I will be looking forward to your entries. Below, I am sharing my layout following the challenge.

I consider this only my second time to work with Websters' products faithfully (my first was "Being Your Mom" found in my blog here). I know this is something new to the graphic/cartoonish/bold/bright me, but I love challenging the flexibility of my scrapbooking style.

What I consider the tricky part in this layout was attaching the string of pearl beads on the cardboard - - almost had a nosebleed stitching them there LOL - - but in the end, it was all worth it.

A MAGICAL LIFE TOGETHER

Materials Used:
Paper: Websters (Magical Wishes), Stamp: Autumn Leaves (Elegant Fluorishes), Flowers: Prima, Ink: Ranger, Colorbox and Stazon, Others: Pearl Beads, Corrugated Board, Blings.

About ME:
I am the reluctant scrapper.
