(he said) Hey!! Jambalaya

Tin says Kaya!

Mia knew this from the start, who I would be scrapping as my ultimate crush (or one of them LOL) for this months challenge . . . I'm not sure if everyone is familiar with this gorgeous crooner, just to hear his name is enough to make me swoon!

No, he's NOT like Michael Buble, don't get me wrong i like Mr. Buble just fine but long before he came along was Harry Connick, Jr. He's an actor, composer, singer, etc. etc. it was because of this hunk o' man (hehe) that I am now a fan of the classics, of jazz and true blue rythm and blues and not the hippity hop kind mind you :-)

And so, an ode to my all-time idol I give you Hey! Jambalaya . . . (which incidentally is the title of a song. Harry made his own version of this old New Orleans classic with a twist of swing!)

Journalling:

(Front Page)
Circa 1990, the Arsenio Hall Show . . . a gorgeous New Orleans native was conducting a big band. He had a voice reminiscent of ol' blue eyes with a dash of rythm and blues . . . it was love at first sight!

(Back Page)
Because of Harry . . .
I am now a big fan of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and a whole new genre I never even knew!
Because of Harry . . .
old classics had a new flavor, a mix of the blues, New Orleans, dixie and jazz . . . much like Gumbo! A whole stewpot of goodness!
Because of Harry . . .
Art bought tickets to his FIRST concert in Manila . . . despite that we didn't catch the first part of the show the rest of the evening was divine.

About Me:
I've been scrapping since 2000 but only seriously since 2007, within that span of time i've been looking for something new and different. I'm glad this challenge came around, I finally got to scrap something other than my family or me :-)

hay hindi ako maka-relate! to tell you frankly, i confuse this guy with Benicio de Toro and i don't know why! hindi naman sila magkamukha. hahaha...pero bago mo ako batukan, in fairness, narinig ko na sya at magaling nga. but given that although i find Buble terribly cute, these kinds of songs lul me to sleep! i like them but i have to be in a certain mood to listen to them.

what i DO love though is the funky way you did your LO and presented your crush! soooo nice and so totally you! love the title too! ayan! nae-LSS (last song syndrome-can't get the some out of my head) na tuloy ako sa Jambalaya!

i really like the sort of loose way you did your LO. parang yung hips niya swaying loosely to jambalaya. really love your style, tin.

i love harry connick, jr. too! i've been a fan since 1994, when i was still a senior in high school. but then, i've always been a fan of sinatra and billie holiday that's why he caught my attention. i was so excited when my sister (who is a fan, too) informed me that he'll be performing here but unfortunately, naubusan kami ng tickets! i was so disappointed. you're so lucky 'coz u got to see/hear him live. and your lo is gorgeous!
