Voting Time for Kaya 10
Diane, for effectively running a great challenge. I do believe the PS membership increased because of her and this challenge.
To Danielle Young, for letting us use such a wonderful kit. We hope we did justice to your digital creation.
To the scrappers who joined this challenge, many of you first-timers in the digital world, you all did yourself proud. To the more experienced digi-scrappers, thanks for showcasing your talent and creativity to us.
There are 37 digital layouts submitted in response to Diane's challenge. Unfortunately, we have to disqualify three because they were submitted after the deadline. You will still see their layouts below because they deserve to be shown and appreciated. However, they will not be included in the voting in deference to those who complied with all the requirements.
We are doing something differently this month. Instead of posting a summary showcasing all the layouts, we would like you to scroll down so you could read again the stories behind these creations and the scrappers that made them.
Voting is now open until February 29, 2008, 12:00 noon, Philippine time. Shortly, thereafter. Diane will announce the winner of the challenge.
Thank you very much.

About ME:
I'm Jill. A nurse and a teacher. I'm happily married to Jerry. We have two kids namely Jadrian and Jannica. I do all sorts of craft from crochetting to doll-making to scrapbooking. I'm been scrapping since 2002 (The year I had my first born. )At first I thought scrapbooking was just a "hobby". I thought of it as nothing more than a way to post and decorate a book of pictures. However, as I began to scrapbook more and more, I realized there is a depth to this hobby that it totally changed and inspired my life. I began to seek out papers, embellishments and different styles and I journal to tell an interesting story...thus, leaving a legacy of tales...Scrapbooking is all about memories and leaving something for your family and friends to remember you by.
Sweet Rain and So Happy Together
I realy enjoyed playing with this kit. Thanks to Dianne and Danielle. I got it early though I couldn't make something yet because of work contraints. Then, I had second thoughts of joining when I saw the gorgeous creations already posted here. So here's my take:

Thank you...your childlike enthusiasm is so infectious. With you, I see the world with a new sense of excitement.

About ME:
I’m Beth, a wife of 20 years to Raffy and a mom to a 9 year old hyperactive girl, Erika. I’ve been scrapping traditionally since the start of 2007. At the start of this year, I made self-commitments to produce at least 1 layout a week and to participate in all of the Kaya! challenges. So, it was not until the last week of February that I considered going into digital scrapbooking. And I’m glad that I did. Now, I have 3 scrapbooking related promises to myself….(1) produce at least 1 traditional layout a week, (2) participate in all of the Kaya! challenges, and (3) produce at least 1 digital layout a week.

About ME:
Hi, I'm Rianne, I work as an analyst and part-time as a writer, and I'm finally getting married this year (after "A Very Long Engagement")! I started scrapbooking in some form in college, although I didn't know about acid-free stuff. It wasn't until a couple of years ago when my friend made me a mini-book gift when I left my former office that I got interested because the acid-free papers were really cute. Right now I'm dabbling in digital scrapbooking since I spend so much time in front of the computer anyway--and most of our pictures are only in digital form. Still, that doesn't stop me from hoarding! I hope to become more active here and in the mailing list, all while doing wedding preps! I'm at http://casualscrapper.blogspot.com and we are at http://wavewedding08.weddingannouncer.com.

Sarah Sweet
I have dabbled a bit in digital scrapbooking but I was really intimidated by the talents that have posted before me. While I enjoyed looking at all the wonderful layouts, there were moments when I couldn't help but exclaim, "How did they do that?"
Thank you Diane for this challenging challenge (I'm at a lost for words) and for the impromptu tutorial on colorizing. Thanks Danielle for letting us use your wonderful kit. Indeed, how many layouts can one kit make? :-)
Journaling:
You always look at the world through rose-colored glasses. I know that soon you will outgrow your childlike innocence but I hope you continue to be sweet and embrace everything with bright-eyed wonder.
Materials Used:

Techniques Used:
I cut out Sarah's images from the photos and layered them on the pink paper. I then lowered the opacity of the photos to get the pink tinge. I colorized the ribbon (loving this new discovery!)
Indeed there's so many things you can do with digital scrapping that it's hard to say stop, this is it. I could have gone on and on if it wasn't time to feed my KiDS dinner. So here it is. No more changing. Hope you like it.
About ME:
I am an aspiring scrapbooker, writer, photographer. I am a mom to 3 amazing KiDS and wife to an extremely talented artist. My goal is to scrap at least one layout a week, and so far, I am behind. I get to scrap only during the weekends now, so this opportunity to scrap digitally and finish at least one LO is a God-send. I only have to bring my laptop with me. And my mom-in-law can't complain about the mess cause there was hardly any, except for one or two chocolate wrappers. LOL.

Honestly, I had a hard time with this challenge not because I don't know how to make digital layout but the kit of Danielle Young is so beautiful that I can't think of better way to make to interpret it perfectly. I keep on loading the kit to my work area until I was able to do one. Got inspired with the picture of my CUTE nephew. Thanks Diane for giving this challenge. Quite challenging for my part. Hope you will like the way I use the kit.

REFRESHING
After stalking the Pinoyscrapbooker's Challenge blog for some time when the new Kaya challenge was released, I've finally summed up some guts to enter the LOs I whipped up over the weekend into the challenge. This is my first entry into the challenge. It was really fun working with Danielle Young's Springtime Feeling kit - the possibilities to create wonderful designs are infinite!!! My boyfriend and I love to take photos. And as much as I can, I try to compile/scrap them and include journalling to share with friends and family. As for digital LOs, I enjoy creating virtual greeting postcards for special occasions - Christmas, friends' birthdays, etc., which I religiously send every year. I just hope I can find more time to really indulge into the craft. I maintain a blog at http://cookieadventures

Layered ribbons on the, erased some part so it would like its twisted on the frame. Changed opacity of the flowers and number 2 on the journaling spot to make it like a "stamped" image. Gaussian blur on the photos. Drop shadows.

One Fine Day
This is my first time to join the KAYA challenge and I would like to say thank you to Danielle for the wonderful kit and most especially to Dianne for hosting this challenge. I had been hibernating from the (digi) scrapping forums ever since my dad passed away last year because I couldn't get myself to do it. I scrap mainly for my family and myself but I know being part of the forums and participating in challenges help motivate me to improve my layouts. I had already finished my LOs and have been procrastinating on sending it. It was just really difficult. The big challenge for me was to finally hit that SEND button and go for it. So here I am with two LOs, stepping out of my box and saying to myself finally, Kayang kaya kaya sumali ulit? (sabay pikit at lunok) KAYA!

My name is Tes Pedrosa-Tirol ('teys' in blogs/scrap forums). I'm a homeschooling SAHM to my two kids, Kai (8), and Aemu (5) and have been married for almost 10 years. I started out as a paper scrapper in 1998 for my first child because I didn't have a lot of pictures of myself growing up and I wanted my child(ren) to be able to look back and remember not just their pictures but my thoughts and my sentiments for them as well. I've kept diaries for as long as I remember and scrapbooking was the perfect way to combine their pictures and my journaling. This was my visual diary for them. I have switched to digital because I find it more convenient. Maybe when I finally have my own creative space just for me (who knows when?) LOL, I'll be able to do both.
My 2 Boys
I've been absent for 2 months and now that I am ready to join Kaya Challenge again, I was bombarded with a really challenging one--going digital!!! Ooops, I've never done that before! I have no idea what to do! But the "have a go" attitude in me just clicked...practised a lot of times and I discovered that it was not that hard! Thanks Diane for the challenge and to danielle for her generosity. Now I am addicted...

I am Kaje, 29 and married to my funny best friend for almost two years now. I've always wanted to scrap traditionally but there are a lot of limitations (ie.expensive and I don't have the space). Ever since I discovered Digitalscrapbooking in 2005, I'm hooked. I haven't made many layouts because I've been spending time learning and reading stuff (actually tried to learn Photoshop because I really wanna scrap! LOL!). One of my goals for 2008, actually, is to scrap more. :) More about me may be found here and here.

Hi I'm Alby! I'm married to my very supportive hubby, Ariel, who is also my number one fan in scrapping. Been scrapping since 2005 but only got to know about acid-free scrapping since last year. I love scrapping because it helps me showcase my photos creatively. It is my stress buster and my "me time". Lately, I've tried a bit of painting on some of my layouts and I enjoy it a lot. I'll try to incorporate a bit of painting in my future layouts. You may see some of my work at my blog.
