A Mini for Yan

Tin says KAYA!

I want to share a mini album I made for my daughter, Ienne, for her retreat . I usually don't use pre-made kits but this mini was a surprise, so I would often scrap secretly; what better way than use a kit and use other scraps I had on hand.

As part of the retreat the girls received Palanca letters, as my daughter was going through her letters she noticed two people didn't send her any note or letter at all. The culprit was yours truly and my younger sister whom she is close to. Then Ienne noticed two odd looking items that was not included in her box, the scroll from my sis and this CD tin from me :-) I'm not much of a mini-album person, actually this was my first! In the end it was all worth it, because Ienne enjoyed going through her mini.

Note: Please forgive the photos, baka ma vertigo kayo sa iba iba na position hehe we were taking photos in a cramped space (we blame the boxes we've been packing and are scattered all over the condo)

Journaling:
(the journaling below are the quotes I used in order, excluding the letter medyo private eh hehe)

- A daughter is a little girl who grows up to be a friend -- author, unknown

- I've seen fire i've seen rain, i've seen sunny days that I thought would never end.
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend, But I always thought that i'd see you again.
-- Fire & Rain, James Taylor

- A daughter is the happy memories of the past, the joyful moments of the present, and the hope and promise of the future -- author, unknown

- Who will see the beauty in your life, And who will be there to hear you when you call. who will see the madness in your life, And who will be there to catch you if you fall -- Fra Lippo Lippi

- A family is love, that's a family. They come in all different sizes and different kinds, but mines just right for me -- Barney

- And He said, "Cast your burdens upon me, those who are heavenly laden. Come to me, all of you who are tires of carrying heavy loads. For the yoke I will give you is easy and My burden is light, come to Me and I will give you rest"

- When you feel the world is tumblin' down on you, and you have no one that you can hold on to. Just face the rising sun, and you'll see hope, and there's no need to run. Lift up your hands to God, and He'll make you feel alright. -- Lift Up Your Hands

- Watching your daugher being collected by her date feels like handing over a million dollar Stradivarius to a gorilla -- Jim Bishop

Materials Used:
K & Co. CD mini album kit, Patterend Paper: K& Co., Scenic Route, Bazzils, etc.; Embellishments: Scrapworks, Fancy Pant, American Crafts ; Stamp: Hero Arts
** Please forgive me this is an incomplete list, I was never able to write down the materials I used. And unfortunately, I don't have Mia's super powers when it comes to scrapbook products LOL

Techniques Used:
I made this mini using small photos of Ienne through the years, I filled it with quotes that we both knew and ended it with a small pocket containing my letter to her; I also stamped, inked and ripped patterened paper.

About Me:
I just learned the 7B's from my daughter, Ienne.
For you ladies with daughters, pay attention:

The 7B's
Books Before Boys Because Boys make BaBies

Yes, I learned this from my 18 year old. If I had known this . . . well then, things would have ended differently wouldn't it?

But I can't imagine life without my alter-ego and conscience, Ienne :-) I can only hope that SHE'll take the 7B's to heart LOL

Hi Tin, Your mini album is a lot more fun than a palance letter. Like the 7Bs too. Haha.

Tin, opening page pa lang naiyak na ako. Your works (esp when it's with Ienne) always tug at my heart, i dunno why :-(

Anyway, thanks for sharing the 7Bs; ako naman, I love books not because they make babies but because books are smarter than boys :-D

Speaking of books & boys, share ko lang din advice ng mom ni Amy Tan (author) sa kanya re Sex education: " Don't ever let boy kiss you. You do, you can't stop. Then you have baby. You put baby in garbage can. Police find you, put you in jail, then you life over, better just kill yourself."

She's been receiving that advice since she was a child, effective sya. Hahaha

Tin, what a lovely surprise for your daughter! The tin can is a great holder too. She can always toss it in her purse and bring it wherever. Love the quotes too! TFS
