Love of Reading

Donna says, KAYA!

My first digital layout for public viewing.

I started to love reading when I was in Grade 6. My first paperback to read was Sydney Sheldon's Bloodline - a very adult thing to read for a 6th grader! I shifted to Robert Ludlum (read: at Grade 6) and got hooked. Alongside with that, I also used to read Sweet Valley Hight & Sweet Dreams paperbacks. That's also when I started liking Danielle Steel and other Harlequin writers. I don't give away my books (unless someone really special asked for it) but I misplace some of them. As of now, my fave author is Nora Roberts. In general, I love romance with a twist of suspense, action and almost anything about mystical or magical stories like the Harry Potter series. So, I really don't know which one to choose it's hard for me I love them all like babies!

Journaling: Books by these authors are my all-time fave. I've been collecting these since HS. I can't choose which one I love best. May it be romance, suspense, sci-fi, mystical or magical stories, it's always as if I'm there in the middle of the story, feeling...living it. May 2007

Materials and Techniques Used: Digital kits - Going West_WW (CT Freebie), Circle of Friends _ACOT, SpringFling_ACOT, Fenderskirts flower image from Scrapbooks Answers CD, Discovering_WW. Used Adobe Photoshop 7 to edit the photo.

About ME:

30-year old wife to Marlon Espiritu. I used to work as an IT support but for some personal reasons I gave up my job (but looking for one right now) and became a stay-at-home wife. No kids yet (but wish to have one someday) that's why the subject in my LOs is always my niece, Cheska. I've been scrapping for more than 3 years now and it gives me so much happiness and a sense of fulfillment. It is an outlet for the creative side of me. Hey Donna, nice LO. Are the roses part of the kit? I love Nora Roberts and I was weaned on Sydney Sheldon. My dad read a lot of Robert Ludlum and they were off-limits so until now I've never read one. I read Daniel Steel's The Promise but that was it. I'm a decade older than you and you're still reading books I've read in college! Wow! Books really transcends time ha.

Really?!? My first Sidney Sheldon book was from my mom's but she don't remember owning it or even reading it! Mas ako ang mahilig magbasa,I think. In college, I'd really save a lot from my allowance to buy a book when I finally had a job I buy 5 books, good for a 1-week read only so just imagine how many books I own and lost! LOL!!! I'll let you borrow, Nora or Sidney? My RL's are OLD :)

Oh I forgot, thanks for the comment. The Fenderskirts flower image came from SCRAPBOOK ANSWERS CD Aug/Sept 2006 issue.

Hi Donna! Love your layout!!! I also love books. I went through the Sydney Sheldon phase, Sweet Valley and other teeny-bopper books. I love that sydney Sheldon's main character is always a woman. =) Right now, I enjoy reading Dan Brown and David Baldacci. I am also a Harry Potter fan and I already reserved my copy of Book 7. Can't wait!!!

About the flowers, you mentioned getting them from the Scrapbook Answers CD. Since I have started to dabble in digital scrapping, i started downloading stuff from my Scrapbook Answers CDs but have found some to be defective. :( When we get together, do you think you can bring some of your CDs so I can download them into my laptop? Thanks!!!

Donna - when I get around to cleaning our library, I'll give you all the Nora Roberts books I can find, and others you might enjoy reading, too. I was very "popular" in college. I was the girl who rented out her books sa dorm. P1 per day. That's how I paid for my addiction. :-) My faves though I never rented out.

Alby - when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows comes out, we should get together and discuss it. That would be fun. I read the last book, tuloy-tuloy, walang tulugan. Tapos naghanap ako ng makausap, wala. Grabe, para akong ulila with no one but the internet chat rooms to share my take of the book to. :-(

Donna dear, love this layout! Nag-uusap kami ni Lee kagabi about her blog entry regarding people who should be declared Hall of Fame or not. I agree with Lee that it's not anybody's fault na magaling talaga sila.

Isa ka na dun, sistah. Ano ba, pati ba naman digital magaling ka pa din? Hay. Talagang sinalo mo lahat ng talent nung nagsabog ang Diyos. Hehe.

Great job, sis! Nice to know dami bibliophiles in Pinoy Scrapbookers! =) Nina
