Hello Beach

Joy says, KAYA!

I've been digiscrapping for quite a while now but I continue to push myself to try new things. Lately, I've been practicing blending and extraction and that's what I did here. It's a little out of the box for me - not my typical page but I think I like how it turned out.

Journaling:
This was your first time at the beach. And oh,how you LOVED it. From the moment you saw the big blue sea, your eyes widened & you let out a squeal! For all the "hassles" of going to the beach, Just seeing you enjoy makes it all worth it.

Thank you...your childlike enthusiasm is so infectious. With you, I see the world with a new sense of excitement.

Materials Used:
- papers & elements from Springtime feelings by Danielle Young
- stamped canvas alpha by Amber Clegg at ScrapArtist
- notepaper alpha from Urban letters by Designs by Lili from ScrapArtist
- glitter alpha from Ole Style Glitter Alphabet by Kim Christensen at Prima Hybrid
- Photoshop7
- fonts: Pea Olson, Mom's Typewriter

Techniques Used:
- blending of main photo to paper using various blending modes
- extracted photo of my little girl from the main photo into a new layer so it isn't blended like the rest of the photo - dropshadows on papers and elements
- layer masks - to thread ribbon thru the frames
- lowered opacity of stamped alpha
- "cut" circles using PS shape tool
- "sanded" LO edges using PS circle bristle brush tool

About ME:
I am Joy Tanjuakio, currently living in Southern California with my husband and 4 kids(1 boy - 7 yo, 3 girls - 5 yo, 3yo & 1 yo). I've been digiscrapping on and off since mid-2005. I've never paper scrapped before as I found the process too intimidating but I've started to dabble in some hybrid projects recently so I've been getting my hands dirty as well. In scrapbooking, I discovered my creative side that I did not know exist! LOL. I blog at Shine Like Stars. My most recent LO's can be seen at my ScrapArtist gallery where I am currently a member of the site's Creative team.
