be you

Christine says, KAYA!

Upon learning about this challenge, I got all excited - I've done a B&W page with a dash of one other color before, and I've been wanting to work on another one again. I felt this was the perfect opportunity...

I got stumped, though, when I couldn't find the right photo, haha! Good thing I managed to find one of my DD's and proceeded from there. Journaling was inspired by one of Cathy Z's journaling (Remember - SS May/June 07)

Journaling:
You're 7...
and already, you are constantly exposed to a lot of new and exciting things.

I know it takes a lot of courage
to be who you are, but I pray
that as you grow older,
you will always believe in yourself
and make the choices that you truly want,
not what others decide for you,
nor what is merely popular.
Daddy and I will always be here for you,
no matter what. We love you.

Materials Used:
Bazzill cs, Sassafrass Lass, DCWV and MAMBI pps, HS foam stamp, MM acrylic paint

Techniques Used:
stamping, die-cutting

About Me:
Married, with 2 kids - DD 7 and DS 4, part-time lecturer on restaurant operations. I have been scrapping on and off since 1984 using non-archival safe products (because I thought the acid-free stuff around that time looked cheesy, haha). I converted to the "other side" in 2006 when I saw gorgeous acid-free papers and other supplies. I've also dabbled in other crafts such as cross-stitching and candle-making. Idol, you did it again! Last month, yours was my favorite LO. Ngayon, pinasiklaban mo nanaman ako. The simplicity of you LOs makes them a classic. Ipakita mo man sa apo mo, saludo pa rin sa iyo. Great job!

Christine, why didn't your talent rub off on me nung makatabi kita sa scrapfest? Kailangan ba konting hangin lang ang pagitan? I wish I could do deceptively simple and yet strikingly amazing layouts like yours. Another beautiful classic layout.
