Creative Solitude

Phylline says, KAYA!

Hidden Journalling (beneath the flower):
Every kind of creative work demands solitude, and being alone, constructively alone, is a prerequisite for every phase of the creative process.

Supplies Used:
Paper : Urban Lily Cheeky
Others: Urban Lily Accents (bird),Technique Tuesday Swirl, Prima Flowers, Heidi Swapp Puffy Floral Center, red bling (dot for letter i), MM red paint, MM glaze, black mesh, acid free chipboard, glitters, lace and rik rak, black plastic ring, black aqualip, white brads, Sizzix die hinges, embossing power, Fruit Smoothie Sizzlit die (Solitude), hand cut title (Creative)

Techniques:
The bird was cut from the Urban Lily Accents paper and embossed to give a raised and glossy finish. The picture wasn't enhanced because it was originally taken in black and white. The title "creative" was handcut using red Bazzill CS, while "solitude" was cut using sizzlit die backing it up with 2 layers of acid free chipboard, painted, inked and topped with MM glaze to give a glossy look. The edges of Prima flowers were dipped in glue and sprinkled with glitters. The Technique Tuesday swirl was also painted using MM paint and glazed and attached to the flower. The journaling was printed in white CS, attached using sizzix die cut hinge and white brads beneath the prima flower.

About ME:
I am an artist by heart and had been seriously scrapbooking for the past 2.5 years. I am a single mom (single as in certified single through annulment) of 2 teenage kids aged 19 and 17 years old. I am a partner to a 3-time Palanca awardee, who is a fictionist, has published 2 books, a multimedia artist, a bassist, and a skater. Professionally, I am an Accountant and Office Manager of a multinational software development company in Makati. I am a woman's rights advocate and the chief mover of the online publication for women www.femalebattle.net. I had been considered a multimedia artist since I have appeared in ABS-CBN's Magandang Umaga Pilipinas, guested a few times in DWIZ's Woman Talk, featured in Good Housekeeping twice and my articles have come out in Manila Times, Voice of Canada online and a few more. I also have a regular column in our parish newsletter in Las Pinas City. I was a servant leader of our parish too for 2 consecutive terms (4 years) as Parish Coordinator of the Ministry of Lectors and chairperson of the Worship Committee of the Parish Pastoral Council. Presently, I am a Lector Commentator in our parish. I write, I design, I scrap. Next month I will be starting my photography lessons under the Federation of Philippine Photographer's Foundation. Whatever it is that I do, you can be sure I put not only my mind but my heart in it. I've been very busy and I cant maintain a blog. But you can view my works at http://community.webshots.com/user/phylline888 and www.femalebattle.net.

i loved how the papers were blended, parang isang patterned paper lang...and the bird is one great symbolism.

You are my kind of woman, sistah. Hindi lang LO mo ang nagpa-captivate sa akin, pati yung intro mo umikot ang ulo ko. Yan ang Babaeng Pilipina!
