Playing to Win

Hanna says, KAYA!

Fresh from a very inspiring experience as a volunteer writer for a youth camp, I decided to scrap some of the photos and journal about a very valuable learning - not only for the kids, but for me as well!

The Education and Livelihood Skills Alliance (ELSA) Youth Leadership Camp is Ayala Foundation's contribution to the USAID Funded ELSA program. The camp I volunteered in was held in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Shariff Kabunsuan, Cotabato City. There were a total of 48 high school students from all over ARMM who attended.

Journaling Reads:
Playing to win is not about beating someone; it's about going as far as you can, using all that you've got.
It's seeing change as a challenge.
It's taking risks and getting out of your comfort zone.
It's letting go of old patterns and behaviors. It's breaking through fear.
Playing to win is learning, growing, and continuously improving.

Materials Used:
Patterned paper and heart embellishment from "Tomboy" digital kit by Angie Briggs from www.scrapartist.com. Edited using Photoshop CS.

About Me:

Hanna a.k.a bananaspin. I am 25 years old - happily married to my navy man Sam. I am very much into social development work and I am currently on a quest to finding out where I can contribute the most and knowing what I'll do for the rest of my life :-) I love writing, travel, photography, scrapbooking and the Internet. Thanks so much for looking Jenn! The "Playing to Win" concept was practiced althroughout the camp. Promoting cooperation rather than competition -- and urging everyone to do the best they can (because doing your best is probably the best for all also) Wonderful kasi , ganun din naman feeling natin sa challenges diba! :-) Not to challenge anyone, but ourselves! Bonus na ang goodies na mapapanalunan Yahu!

What an exciting adventure. Very self-fulfilling. Love how you colored the balls. Were they really blue?

the ones that they were throwing were really yellow, i just changed it so it makes sense because the close up ones were really blue! Thanks for looking!

Another expert photoshopper. Surely, sa next EB, you and Donna should teach us the basics of Photoshop, so we can all enjoy making digital layouts without stressing ourselves. I really like the sentiment in the layout. Applicable nga sa scrapping. Hahaha. And the LO exudes fun and energy.

Hi Hanna! very nice LO as always :-) balls and all! You didn't just colorize the elements, but the placement of the scattered balls made for a well-balance LO. And to top it off, it's commemorating a very special event. Kudos to you Hanna, for the work that you do in the service of others :-)
