True Friend

This digital layout is about me and one of my closest friends, Vicky. We've been through a lot of hard/tough times together. Lots of laughter and tears, always honest with everything we tell each other even if it hurts as long as its the truth. We finish each other's sentences as if we know what's going on each other's head. Here's a little tribute to our friendship... TFL!

Journaling Reads:
"Of all the friends I have, you are one of the most influential to me. I was a young, naive woman and you taught me how to be brave. You showed me how to be a fighter and I learned how to survive. When I stumbled and messed up, you were there when I was picking up the pieces of myself. You patiently listened to my woes even if I was like a broken record. You let me decide for myself, let me be who I am and what I wanted to be and still, never failed to tell me to be careful. Funny, we don't call each other bestfriends. Maybe it's just a name or a label, I don't know. But what I'm certainly sure about is we are friends to its truest meaning."

Materials used:
All elements my own design except the flower, stitches and the bling (re-color, ACOT_Circle of Friends and SpringFling elements). Fonts Beautiful ES and Book Antiqua. Software used Adobe Photoshop 7.

Techniques used:
I started with a black background, dabbed white dots (used graph/ruler for correct alignment) and used a lot of different brushes to create a "distressed look." There were a lot of "distressing" black and white layers until I achieved the desired look I wanted. The two circle matts (black and striped b/w papers, that is if you can see the "striped paper") were also products of the same procedures I used to create the background "paper." Made the circle text by copying "a true friend i will always treasure" text 3x and aligned it in circle form. The butterfly is a brush in dissolved opacity (or whatever you call that). Again, dabbed brushes to form the white areas for the journaling. Photos edited to black and white.

About ME:

30-year old wife to Marlon Espiritu. I used to work as an IT support but for some personal reasons I gave up my job (but looking for one right now) and became a stay-at-home wife. No kids yet (but wish to have one someday) that's why the subject in my LOs is always my niece, Cheska. I've been scrapping for more than 3 years now and it gives me so much happiness and a sense of fulfillment. It is an outlet for the creative side of me. You made your own digital elements? Aren't you the one who started digital scrapbooking recently? Madaya ka, ha. Aminin mo na - matagal ka ng gumagamit ng Photoshop. Pero Ms HOF, as usual, ganda na naman.
