Us

Marix says, KAYA!

When I saw the challenge for this month I was very excited and had this idea of using most of my stamps. I'm into stamping nowadays but haven't maximized their potential yet. Anyway I had fun doing this LO because I had the chance to finally play with my stamps. The sketch was inspired by CK's content page, which is a challenge posted by Paula at CK.

Journaling Reads:
Let us GROW 2gether, ENJOY together.

Materials Used:
CS - Colormates; Clear Stamps- Hero Arts, Autumn Leaves, Rhonna Farrer, Upsy Daisy, Heidi Swapp, Bam Pop, others; Making Memories foam stamp and magnetic stamps; VersaColor inkpads and VersaMark watermark stamp pad; Hero Arts gems; AMM Chipboard; Plaid Crystal Sparkle Embossing Powder; buttons; rickrack; ribbon; Making Memories Brads; Sizzlit die (small tag); Plaid mounting blocks

Techniques Used:
Background cs- stamped assorted leaves using VersaMark watermark, (clear stamp unknown).
Blue square - stamped upsy daisy flowers and MM foam stamp for the stems, stamped words on small tags (using masking tehnique) and attached with flower brads.
Orange square - stamped Hero Arts letters for "July", "2007" with other stamps, butterfly from upsy daisy and then handcut, accented with gems and attached using foam squares.
Yellow flower - stamped Hero Arts border stamps on yellow cs, cut into strips and formed into a flower attached with MM brad (as seen in BHG Scrapbooks mag).

About ME:
Hi! I'm Marix, single and currently working as a Systems Analyst in Singapore. I've been scrapbooking since highschool but never knew such a term ever existed. Back then I've been using magazines to cut out titles and images and used the magnetic albums which sadly are all not acid free. I only discovered the term scrapbooking and acid free in 2004 and have been doing it since then. It was on and off until I became addicted to it last year. I scraplift, use sketches and find inspiration through advertisements. I'm a traditional scrapper and haven't tried digital yet. I consider myself as a free style scrapper who loves embellishments and texture in a layout. You can view my other layouts at http://scrappalific.blogspot.com/.

Hi Marix, grabe inisa-isa ko talagang titigan yung mga stamping na ginamit mo. Thanks for the full description, it helped me spot the many techniques that you used. Medyo nahirapan lang ako kasi I can't resize your LO to a bigger size. :-( You must have lots of patience and time in your hands. Haha. But seriously, this is an LO that more than lived up to the challenge. Thanks for sharing.
