Sooo Scary…Let’s Go Again!

Julie says, KAYA!

I can only imagine the thrill of suddenly dropping down 13 floors off a building. I see that in the faces of my husband Jeff and and my son Ian (circled in yellow), as they rode the Hollywood Tower Hotel Ride during the kids’ first visit to Disneyworld, Florida. I didn’t do it. I knew I would wet my pants. Sara Jade and I waited happily outside and ate all the cotton candy. Ian said “It was so scary, can we go again?”

Materials Used:
Ephemera of the “keys to the world”, Players Club cards, hotel brochures, Disneyworld park brochures and maps, “Where Dreams Come True’s First Visit button, and vacation club info. Die Cuts With a View, Disney crappola

Inspiration/Techniques Used:
Becky Higgins’ Sketches, Scrapbook Trends magazine.

The art of pasting cards, brochures, and other objects together – thanks to Pablo Picasso and Braque for inventing the Collage. Also a little bit of Cubist-like, Picasso-style art, using geometric shapes, circles, rectangles, squares.

About Me:
Philippine-born, living in the US for almost 2 decades. Primarily full time mom and homemaker. Volunteer Art and Reading teacher in my kids’ classrooms. When not involved with kids, I work from home as President & CEO of my own Human Resources and Learning Management Intl Consulting firm, and as hands-on partner of www.bookoto.com. Scrapbooking is a hobby my kids, friends, and I share and enjoy very much. Cardmaking, Photography, Suzuki Music (piano and violin), and Interior Design (only of my own home), are now great interests of mine.

Hi Julie, that's a great way to put all the Disney brochures and postcards in a giant pocket. I don't have an idea where to start with our Disneyland albums and to think I started scrapbooking primarily to showcase those photos and souvenirs. :-( Thanks for the idea. I never got to ride the Hollywood Tower ride because I couldn't get anyone to ride with me! Maybe next time...

I love that Mickey head peeking through from behind all the ephemera, too.
